Watch Out For Violations

Despite these positive elements of Southington Care Center, they did receive a violation in 2018 as a result of improper care.

In 2018, there was an incident with a resident. This resident needed assistance while bathing. Staff members were instructed to be gentle with the resident. The resident complained of inadequate washing and said the staff members dressed them while they were still wet.

Another resident also complained that the staff was rough when providing help or treatment.

Yet another resident reported rough care in the bathroom. This resident had knee issues, and their knee was bumped against the wall during transfer.

Another resident who needed help using the bathroom did not receive adequate bathroom assistance from the staff.

These issues combined for a violation of Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies and the facility was fined $4,260.
