Nursing Home Violations
While the Parkway Pavilion clearly has great services for the elderly, this does not mean that they are exempt from risks of neglect and abuse. In fact, the facility was fined in 2017 for a violation of Connecticut General Statutes/Regulations for Connecticut State Agencies.
In 2017, a resident told staff members that they were touched inappropriately by a staff member. The resident was sent to the hospital for a check but the findings were negative. Upon investigation, it was alleged that a staff member repeatedly penetrated the vagina when repositioning them on the bed. The staff member in question admits that while repositioning the resident, their hand slipped and touched the vaginal area.
During the investigation, the staff member was suspended. These claims were substantiated and the staff member was terminated. The resident got psychosocial support for the incident.
The facility was fined $1,530 for the incident.
