2017 Violation

Despite these services and good resources for the elderly, the Montowese Health and Rehabilitation Center did receive a recent Connecticut General Statutes violation.

One resident at the Montowese Health and Rehabilitation Center had a care plan that stated that they needed to be assisted by two staff members when being transferred in and out of bed. One day, only one staff member attempted to lift the resident from their wheelchair to their bed.

This resulted in a wound on the resident’s right leg that required ten sutures.

This was a violation of the Public Health Code and the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies. It resulted in a fine of $1,740.

Choosing a Care Facility

The Montowese Health and Rehabilitation Center has good care options for the elderly. However, there are drawbacks to this facility. The violation that they received in 2017 indicates that staff does not always pay attention to care plans and resident notes. This is something to consider before choosing Montowese as a care center for an elderly loved one.
