Home Violation

Despite these services and resources, Abbott Terrace Health Center is not perfect. They have made mistakes, and some of those mistakes result in violations. For example, in 2018, the home received a violation for improper care of a resident. A staff member verbally abused a resident, using profanity and threatening the resident. As a result, the resident suffered an increase in anxiety and sleep issues. This issue occurred on multiple occasions.

The staff member was terminated for their behavior, but the home was still fined $3,480 for the issue. This was a class B violation of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies.

Deciding on a Nursing Home

Choosing a nursing home is difficult, and there is no perfect facility. However, some facilities are better than others. The Abbott Terrace Health Center offers many amenities and services for the elderly, but issues in the home still persist. This is evident in the 2018 violation. However, it is good that the home terminated the employee using abusive language.
