You can make sure that they are getting the help that they need to live long, fulfilling lives. For some families, this means considering a home health aide, an assisted living facility, or even a nursing home.

About Attorney McKeen

My beloved grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and had an extended stay in a nursing home.

Our family tried to care for her at home, but her needs exceeded our capacity to provide them.

We had to place our trust in a nursing home to provide her care. She was completely vulnerable.

My grandmother lived her life taking care of us, but the time came for someone else to take care as her. And she deserved the best care. She deserved to live her days treated with kindness, understanding, and respect.

Right now, there’s a major push to turn nursing homes into corporate profit centers by cutting staff and training. The results of these policies are that the elderly are more vulnerable than ever to abuse and neglect.

And that’s not okay.

The only way to get nursing homes to follow the patient safety rules are to hold them civilly accountable.

When I take a nursing home case, I imagine my client is my grandmother. I work tirelessly to hold those who do harm to the most vulnerable amongst us fully accountable.
